Vincent Pernin & Quentin Chanudet in Les Arcs: “La 8”

What an awesome time I had filming this DH MTB video project with Vincent Pernin and Quentin Chanudet, on their home trail.

The video has been made for Commencal, and Les Arcs Bike Park.

It was a real challenge to film because both riders had to be synchronised for all of the different camera angles, especially in the section where they choose a different line at 2″15.

It is undeniable how much I enjoyed filming, it made the editing more difficult, but I think that we’ve done a pretty good job! 😉

Vincent Pernin words:

“La 8″ is one of the trails of Les Arcs Bike Park, where I live now. This trail is one of the many options you have to get down to Bourg Saint Maurice. Not the easiest, but for sure not the hardest. It is just a very flowy trail, with fun features mixed with some aggressive DH turns, technical sections with roots & rocks.
I love to ride this trail with my buddy, Quentin Chanudet who is from the area. Quentin is a good fellow to ride with, and also a good DH WC rider. We love to ride close on this trail and overtake each other, every time we get the chance: pretty much like in this video.

Let Me Ride РJ̩r̫me Clementz

This is a video we filmed with Jérôme Clementz (Enduro World Champion in 2013), about 2 years ago in Canada BC, on Full Nelson Trail around Squamish.
Unfortunately, the project has never been finished for different reasons.
As you probably already know, Jérôme had a bad crash in may and injured himself. He dislocated his shoulder and ripped all the ligaments. He had surgery and needs 3 months recovery before to be back on his bike.

He contacted me about 1 week ago to get back on that project and publish this video that really shows his actual feeling, what he’s really missing…

His words:

A lot of people ask me if I was gutted not being able to race all summer. Actually a little bit, but nothing compared to what I’m really missing: Simply riding…
We dug in our archives and found this video, shot by Christophe Hassel, in 2012 during a Trip in BC.
We never published it for different reasons but watching it now, it really explains what I want to do again and the hole left in my life since my injury.
Just ride, nothing big, nothing crazy, no stress, just to feel your tyre drifting, getting some air, feeling some speed and getting the flow!!
F**k I Can’t wait to be back!! 😉
Jey

Cam Zink – The Art of Flight

Great interview of Cam Zink in the latest issue of the French Magazine Big Bike #85 with a photo I took of him during the Kokanee Crankworx 2011 Red Bull Joyride in Whistler.
In case you don’t remember, Cam Zink is the rider who has thrown the biggest backflip ever, in Red Bull Rampage 2013 event, last October.

Oxe Sports – Eliott Lapotre

I edited this video last week for a Mountain Bike Equipment brand called Oxe Sports. They make Mountain bike protective gear (Knee Pads, Elbow Pads, Back and Spine protectors, …)
Everything has been shot last summer in British Columbia Canada, in Sun Peaks Bike Park, around Lillooet and Farwell Canyon, Chilcotin River, which is by far, the most beautiful place we’ve been in that trip and French Rider Eliott Lapotre is shredding it!

Induro Dual Range (DR) Hi-Hat Tripod Set

I’ve just received my new Hi-Hat Tripod today, I already own the CM34 Carbon 8X Monopod from Induro and found out that they were making that Hi-Hat Tripod.
It won’t be my main tripod but I always wanted to have a “more compact” option to carry with me when I’m shooting MTB or Ski videos. You can use the Induro Hi-Hat for both photography and video production and it is supporting a 100 kg load, each leg features a two section extension and three steps of variable angle adjustment. I’ve mounted a Manfrotto 701HDV Pro Fluid Video Mini Head on it.

*Update (Tuesday August 14th, 2012): I used it for the first time yesterday afternoon to get some footage of Jerome Clementz riding his Mountain Bike around Squamish (Full Nelson) and I loved using it. I can tell for sure that this tripod is robust, easy to carry and really quick to set up! I’ve found the pivoting foot with rubber grip really stable and helpful in some situation!

*Update (Monday, July 08th, 2014): Link of the video “Let Me Ride“.

Eliott Lapotre visiting Whistler BC

It is a bit hard to work on Mountain Bike videos when we have so much snow outside, here in Val d’Isère. But here it is! A short edit I filmed with Eliott when he came to Canada last summer.

The trails are on Whistler Mountain Bike Park – Freight Train & No Joke.

Enjoy…

Road Trip to Kamloops

For those who don’t know, Charles Renaud-Roy, Eliott Lapotre, Mickaël Haxaire, Vincent Pernin and myself went on a Road Trip for 5 days around Kamloops last August to discover some Freeride trails, Sun Peaks, SilverStar and best of all and unplanned, we met Brad Stuart (Anthill Films – Follow Me) who has literally turned his backyard into the ultimate playground for mountain bikers !
